strange critter on greek coin
« on: October 13, 2014, 08:41:13 am »
Hello Forvum.

This coin is not a great quality piece, but it has a strange creature on it that I can't figure out. I don't even know which way the coin should be facing. The obverse is no help. I think I can make out some kind of helmet, but the face does not seem to work.

Squid? Whale? Octopus? Crab? Scorpion? Combination of them all? What is it!
