I have this coin that I cannot identify. If anyone can shine a light on anything about it I would appreciate it, please.

It is AE8 and .45 gm

Hi 186,

The second photo is clearly an amphora.

The first photo, if you rotate it 90 degrees, may be a galley. That's just a guess. It's not clear.

Hi, Meepzorp,

Thanks for the input. Here are the photos again, (one turned 90o west).

While I am off researching 'Galleys', does this help?

Does anyone else have any input?

Sorry. Because I cannot identify this coin I am unsure as to whether the 'prow' of the 'galley' should be left or right.

If it is right, here is another photo.

(I am new and) I am unsure how to 'edit' a post.

I 'screwed up' and posted the same photo again.

Here is the one I meant to post . . . .

Hi, Tomeckk,

I would like it to be that but mine is AE8 which is pretty far from AE19.

I believe we might have a winner!!!

Shanxi, thank -you, indeed thank-you to all who took the time to look and to those who contributed their ideas.

I am happy. I do have some others that are perplexing me and I will solicit help with those coins in my collection that I fail to identify.

I am off to indulge myself in this 'warm and fuzzy'.

Thank- you again.
