Ptolemaic Help with ID please
« on: September 07, 2014, 10:43:36 am »
Hello!

Bronze 18mm, 3.2 grams.

This appears to be Ptolemaic.  It is badly worn, but both sides have a beaded border, and the reverse seems to have an eagle left in the style of Cleopatra VII.

It is similar to:

Svoronos 1162   Cleopatra VII Philopator AE Chalkous-Sixteenth Unit. Paphos, Cyprus mint, 51-30 BC. Diademed idealized head right / PTOLEM BASILE, Eagle standing left on thunderbolt. Svoronos 1162 (listed as Arsinoe II); Kreuzer, p. 45 (49)

Any suggestions?

Thanks
