Philip I or Philip II?
« on: August 31, 2014, 06:47:08 am »
Having a little trouble with identification of this coin.
Can't figure it out - is it Philip I or Philip II?
Reverse legend seems to be PM TR P VI COS P P (both rulers have this kind of legend on their coins).
This type of reverse I found for Phillipus II (http://wildwinds.com/coins/sear5/s9271.html#RIC_0236), but the portrait on my coin looks like of an older man.
The obverse legend is also common for both rulers: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG
Any suggestions?
