I don't like the style on the obverse at all... It doesn't look ancient to me...

Here again your   (i) "IMO a forgery";   (ii) "I don't like the style on obverse at all...It doesn't look ancient to me ..";   (iii) the flippant statement: "Souvenir for tourists; and then   (iv) the ill informed summary judgement by imperial fiat: " Fake coin report please" ;   are all exceptional examples of the distorted scientific investigation and scientific process demonstrated to be exercised by the Member (with 5 golds on epaulette cum owner/president) and his other Merry Members.
Congratulations again on your distinguished scholarship !!
Well done. Keep  it up fellows.
This is my last on this or any other of your so called discussion boards, etc.
Please spare me the pleasure of  having not to get / read any further of your comments on subject.

Sounds like you spent some money on a fake coin and aren't happy about it.

Dreadfully sorry if you got offended by honest opinions, ( which you asked for, I might add... Otherwise why post the coin at all?)
I admit I am not the most experienced of collectors, but even I see the problems with the style of your coin problematic.. The fact that you have had some genuine experts chime in with the same opinion should tell you something about your coin. I am sorry if you have suffered financially or mentally from this verdict, but to shoot the messenger is to bury ones head in the sand..
Why not stick around and learn instead of throwing insults at folks who are trying to help you?

 Best wishes,

Lee S.

Wow.  The poster seems to have buyer's remorse on steroids, lashing out at the messengers of disagreeable news.

Being a quant by inclination myself, I have some sympathy for an evidence based (aka "scientific") approach to such analysis, but early on learned that one of the most valuable  skills a collector can acquire is that of "connoisseur-ship" an intuition that's developed from handling many many coins.  May not be "scientific" or quantifiable, per se, but its no less valid and there's a great deal of it amongst the participants of this board.  Sometimes they're wrong certainly, but in the absence of any contrary information being offered, you ignore their expertise at your own peril as much as the folks that are disappointed about the "bargains" they bought from the world's largest online flea market.

Hi folks,

Hey, I'm not a blast at parties. Not everyone who isn't a blast at parties has those traits. Areich has offended everyone who is in the "I'm not a blast at parties" community. We are all owed an apology. :D ::)

The only time that I am a blast at parties is when I am "blasting away" (playing the butt trumpet).

Judging by the comments made on these two fake coin reports, i think we know what other fakes this man has purchased recently and is certainly not happy to hear about their true authenticity.

I'm sure none of us would like to admit that we spent thousands on fake coins, but to be rude to those giving you an honest, experienced OPINION, is just childish and contrary to any scientific process.

It's all starting to make sense now, note the addendum at the end:

Nice bit of detective work Mihali84.

I've been increasingly of the opinion that anything rare/valuable appearing for sale on the world's biggest flea/thieves' market should be considered with a skeptical eye and one needs to build a case before accepting  them to be genuine and not the other way around (i.e., they're all ok unless proven to be fakes).  Silly me.

Is it just me, or have the boards become increasingly nasty of late?  Maybe it runs in cycles but there seem to be quite a few posters lately who become rude when they don't get the answers they were expecting.  Just my observations for what it's worth.
I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member!

This is no longer funny but really sad. Writing an article about them doesn't make these coins any less fake, and they are bad fakes. This shows again how important forums like this one are. You could never go so far astray.

I kinda feel bad for the guy, but the whole "be more scientific" thing rubs me the wrong way.

I've heard stories about guys going bonkers at coin shows when they find out they bought an obvious fake (I think in Wayne Sayles' forgery book).  The comments on the fake report are unbelievable.

It sounds like he wants these coins to be real to support his own academic "theories."

Perhaps it came from the same jeweler who was selling the fake Galerius coins in his other post.

In light of the interesting "forgery" collection
Just popped up in eBay(see thread in eBay board),
I rather think he is the fake seller himself.  Perhaps
He wants to use the papers to legitimize the coins he sold and will sell.

Old cliche or not, the collective knowledge on Forum Ancient Coins should be sufficient enough for you or any other person seeking authenticity. You Sir have got into a profession you cannot grasp in its entirety, the coins you have posted here and in your prior post are blatant forgeries. You dishonour the name of Numismatic collectors the world over.  :-\

Maybe a reality check could be of some use at this point in time.

P.S Thanks mihali84 for your interesting link to "ENIGMATIC SILVER DRACHMS", a wonderful read.

I believe George H4 is NFS ancient-artefacts777, or maybe his supplier, or less likely his customer.  I am confident that they are somehow related. BTW, ancient-artefacts777 sends me almost daily messages telling me this coin or that coin that I am selling is fake and I should compare it to his genuine coin (and he attaches an image of one of his fake coins).  The latest one he keeps going on and on about is an NGC certified (slabbed) Athens tetradrachm and his story seems to be that only fake coins are slabbed by NGC because if there is no reason to certify genuine coins.  I think he is certifiable.

The other possibility is the George H4 is just a troll.

Fake coin report please (it was not been done yet, when I looked just now).

P.S. Just saw ecoli's post.
