Roman As Augustus?
« on: July 25, 2014, 01:48:20 am »
Hello members,

A friend of me found this roman coin with his metaldetector. He went to the local archaeologist en he sayd it's from julianus 360 A.C. His pictures are not very good but we have to do with it.

After that i did some research and my conclusion was not a coin from Julianus, but from Augustus. My friend tolld he could read something like STO beneath the exergue. I think there stand WEESTO ore WFSTO(?) See: http://www.tantaluscoins.com/coins/19939.php

What do you guys think? I can't find any further reference.

Regards and thanks.
