Well after finding out that the above diobol is fake  :-[ I added a very nice drachm from Tarentum with Owl reverse:

Can someone confirm I have the correct attribution please?  There are many minor variations on these but I think I got it right!

hi Jay,

officially your coin is listed in Vlasto as 1047-52, with the IOP upward. while they are all very similar, i think yours pretty well matches Vlasto 1048.
further references include McGill II,135, Cote 348, and Sear 367v.

Thanks Nico!

I added this lovely bronze bracelet:

Heavily encrusted but cleaned with Gringott's, distilled water, scalpel and brass brush with a bit of Jax brown patina for good measure! To see before and after pictures:

Nice additions Jay. The Vespasian is the rarer type with Nike on an elongated base.

Vespasian Didrachm added.  I think I got the references right. Nice portrait.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-121073

Sextus Pompey denarius:

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-121072

The Nike on elongated base is RPC 1648 and much rarer than the more common 1647 without the base. It is in local style with a 12 o'clock die axis. 1641 is a Rome mint issue in that style without the base and has a 6 o'clock die axis.

Metcalf in The Silver Coinage of Cappadocia speculated that the Nike with the elongated base may be no more than a variant. RPC assigned the type it's own number.

Awesome portrait!

Thanks guys!  I've updated the reference to RPC 1648.  I bought it along with the Sextus out of a Roman box and the seller gave me 50% off since they had been in his inventory for a long time.  It's nice to have good relationships with dealers!

A rare denarius by Vespasian with both Titus and Domitian on the reverse:

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-121461

Not the greatest example but I've waited a long time for one to come up, so when this one appeared I snatched it up!
Don't have it in hand yet but I couldn't wait to post it! :D

Although this is rated at the same rarity level in RIC as the confronting heads dynastic denarius, this curule chair type is much rarer, IMHO.

Nice catch!

N.B. This is RIC 6 (R)
