Superb Cameos Joe!

In May I was in Paris for a few days and took the chance to go to the Cabinet des Médailles (5 Rue Vivienne).

Below are three photos by me of Cameos depicting Claudius, all remounted in later times.

1) Sardonyx Cameo dated 41-42 AD, remounted in Gold in the 16th Century, part of the Treasure of the Abbey of Saint Denis. No. 269

2) Agate-Onyx Cameo undated, remounted with Gold enameling in the 17th Century, former collection of Louis XIV. No. 270

3) Sardonyx Cameo, undated, remounted with Diamonds and Gold enameling by Josias Belle in 1686, former collection of Louis XIV. No 265

You are most welcome Joe, that these Cameos on display are No's 265, 269 & 270 shows the amount that are not shown to the public, for obvious reasons of space limitation I guess.
