Hi Vim,

The obverse photo needs to be rotated 160 degrees counter-clockwise. It is a stylized castle.

These coins are sort of Crusader coins. They were minted by European kings in several different mints in Greece (Epirus, Achaia, Athens, etc.). Most of them are common, but a few are rare.

Although it could be a French coin, I believe this is a denier from the Principality of Achaea (a Crusader principality in southern Greece).

It is a Turnois type denier. Struck between 14 and 15 siecles.
