These three Arab or Persian Byzantine imitative folles are not identical but clearly related.

10.502g, 28.6mm

11.641g, 27.6mm

13.560g, 32.3mm

Anyone know good attributions/refs for these?  Thanks!

looks like some kind of imitative

the legend dont make a lot of sense

some of the arab bizantine have clear legend and the mint clearly written in arabic , these coin IMHO should be classified as local coinage as they were issued by cities like emesa near the border between the umayyad and the bizantine

i might be wrong though

ABQ refers to the article on the Scythopolis and related coins that appears in the Israel Numismatic Society journal #13, composed by Amitai-Priess, Berman & Qedar.

I have reviewed the Berman and Qedar article and do not believe my coins are related to the types covered.  The types are discussed in Pottier, H. Le monnayage de la syrie sous l'occupation perse (610-630). Cahiers Ernst-Babelon 9. (Paris, 2004). They are in the catalog now under Sasanian
