Cilician Armenia, Roupen I?
« on: June 03, 2013, 01:37:25 pm »
I have received this coin from a consignor identified as Cilician Armenia, Roupen I, AC 245, Rare.  I have handled many other Armenian coins but they usually have been cheaper coin types or already reliably attributed and authenticated buy others with expertise.  I am hoping for some help here on the boards from an Armenia collector or specialist with confirming, correcting, or improving the attribution.  Thanks, Joe

I actually have plenty of books with images of the type. I cannot read the legends and worry it could be a similar but different type. Someone who collects these will likely know.

Hi Joe,
It is a Roupen I, tentatively attributed. If the lettering is more dense supposedly it reads Constantine (Gosdantin I).
Best,
Levon
