Anyone interested in Janus and his temple will appreciate the following article, which I just finished:

Taylor, Rabun, "Watching the Skies:Janus, Auspication, and the Shrine in the Roman Forum" in Memoirs of the American Academy in Rome, Vol. 45 (2000), pp. 1-40.

If your library has access to databases it should be easy enough to find.  I got mine via JSTOR. An excellent read. I highly recommend it.
