GLORI-A EXER-CITVS - Help to identify
« on: February 25, 2013, 05:52:18 pm »
This coin is driving me crazy.

In the obverse I can read : CONSTANTI
The reverse is: GLORI-A EXER-CITVS
The problem is the mintmark that seems to be CONSS does not match the legends.

Can you help me?

RIC VIII Constantinople 51a has an obverse legend of CONSTANTI-VS MAX AVG, with a reverse of GLORI-A EXER-CITVS. However, it is only recorded for delta, so yours is an unlisted officina. RIC has a footnote that says despite its "unexpected features the coin appears to be regular."
