Are you a member of the Ancient Coin Collector's Guild?

If you are an active collector of ancient coins, you should please consider supporting the ACCG and their efforts to protect this hobby from those who would see laws and treaties that would forbid the ownership and exchange of ancient coins.

From their website, "The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the free and independent collecting of coins from antiquity. The goal of the guild is to foster an environment in which the general public can confidently and legally acquire and hold any numismatic item of historical interest regardless of date or place of origin. ACCG strives to achieve its goals through education, political action, and consumer protection."

To find out more information about the ACCG or to join and support your hobby, go to their webpage...

(Yes, this is a shameless plug, but one I believe that Joe won't mind and that we all should support.)

It would  be interesting to see how many of the thousands of collectors who visit this site are supporting the protection of our hobby though the ACCG.

I just renewed my membership today. How about you?

Yes I have for several years.  Our government sucks and very little stands between us and them on this front.  Worthwhile investment IMO.   :police:

Ditto!

The ACCG is not just for US-based collectors; I am from Australia,
and have been a proud member since the Guild's inception.

I feel that it is encumbent on all collectors who are able to do so, to
support the group that supports and fights for your collecting rights.

They need your help, so that they can continue to help you!

It is a very worthwhile cause - do whatever you can.

This is a plug worth making. I will confess I've never paid the membership dues to join, though becoming a "friend" is only $35, which I suppose isn't much compared to my annual coin budget. Glad you posted the reminder!

I have been a member from the beginning and volunteer to help whenever possible.

You should join and also like their page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ancient-Coin-Collectors-Guild-ACCG)

I, too, have been a member since the beginning of the ACCG. Who else is fighting to hold back the tide of misguided MOU's?

What are the benefits of it if you are out of USA?

1. Maintaining an international market in which to trade coins legally.
2. Pushing-back against a misguided "archaeology-above-all" mindset before it comes to a country near you (i.e. Germany, if you are in Europe).
3. Spreading the good word about ancient coin collecting and the research, study and cultural exchange that it encourages.

These are a few. I'm sure there are more!
