Anyone going to the New York show this year?  I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday hunting for Greek bronze.

I wish I could make it for the live auctions.  Maybe next year, and Joe can buy us all the first round afterward  ;D

I've never successfully bought a coin on the Friday. Hence I run away on the Friday early morning flight to London.  It's the (following) Sunday auction that's most interesting, a large specialist collection whose motives I admire, but I can't stay 3 days longer

Fridays are just for fun but I always find something on Thursday and do the professional preview which is worth the $100 IMO.  The Sun auction is quite a collection and there are a few items of interest to me in it, but there are several in Triton I'm going to chase for sure.  I viewed the coins in San Francisco last weekend.  I would like the Caesar aureus on the Gemini cover though!

I will be there as well - actually I have missed only one show since 1996. Hope to see at least some of you on Thursday or during the week-end!

The NYINC 2013 is now over. I enjoyed the auctions, although there was not that much to buy (= afford), with the possible exception of the GEMINI on Sunday, if one was in great Flavian stuff. I was happy to see many old friends, enjoy good chats with Joe and Salem, among others and get to learn several new younger generation major people. This was my 16th time during 18 years so the early giants are really getting about as old as I myself...:) People really should try to make this at least once. Sitting through a 6-7 hour auction with little chance to afford anything is very educational. One starts to appreciate the other options as well.
I did pick up a neat Plotina denarius and I am very grateful for the dealer for it. I will certainly visit him and his store again. Ofcourse, dealings with FORUM were important as well!

I attended for the third time.  Great visits with several dealers, including a purchase from Forum!  And others.  Greatly adds to confidence in purchasing to have so many top notch specialists in these coins.  Not many bargains for my price range this year.  The web site and overall presentation of the show could use some refreshing.
