I'm far behind in photographing and posting new acquisitions but here are a few that some may enjoy seeing.

1st, is a finely detailed Julius Caesar Elephant Denarius albeit with a flat strike.  It came with the original receipt from the HJBerk 90th Buy or Bid Sale, April 17, 1996, Lot 232, listed as Mint state.

2nd, a LEG IIII denarius. This is not an easy coin to find and these always remind me of a young Titus Flavius Vespasianus. Vespasian was in the Fourth Legion as a young man and the legion sided with him during the Civil Wars.

3rd, a Hadrian / Libertas Denarius.  I found the striking portrait and interesting reverse to much to pass up.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-132608

4th and 5th, a shekel and a half from Tyre.  I know these may bore some but I enjoy them.

The shekel is well worn but it has a large flan and perfectly centered on both sides with full legends and details. Not the easiest to find. (On a budget anyway)

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-132609

The half shekel is beautifully toned and is wonderful in hand.  If anyone can decipher the date it would be greatly appreciated.

As always, any corrections or comments are appreciated.

Enjoy,
Nemo

As far as the half shekel is concerned, I should have mentioned it came with an old Spink ticket that gives the date as 1BC.  That means (if they're correct) it's either dated PKE 2/1 BCE or PKÏ‚ 1BC/1AD.

I'm also going to post this in Biblical coins to see if anyone over there might be able to decipher the date.

Wow Nemo, great acquisitions. I especially like the legionary denarius and the Caesar elephant. I really liked reading your blurb on the Caesar denarius in the member's gallery.

Yes indeed! And no greater compliment could a Flavian fanatic receive than to be recognized as such by Mr.Atherton!   I've long recognized that my only hope of getting a real rarity is if an example is already in your collection!!  ;D

Well, I'm way behind in photographing several new coins for my gallery. Here are a few of the new ones.

A common Vespasian with excellent portrait and toning.
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-135158

A scarce Titus Judaea capta from Antioch.  I already have the type from Rome so this was a welcome addition.
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-135162

A Maximus denarius struck on a broad flan.  Come on, there's no better name than Maximus!
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-135159

A rare Gordian I tet from Alexandria. You can't help but feel bad for this guy. An example of how your whole life can fall apart in just a couple of weeks.
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-135160

And last, but not least, a rare Gordian II denarius.

I just added two more Civil Wars of 68-69 types to my gallery.

It was also fun to track down the Myers/ Adams auction notice for the "Clasped Hands" example. It was the third annual New York International Numismatic Convention held in the Albert Hall of the Americana Hotel.

Clasped Hands

Jupiter / Vesta

These are a welcome addition to the one already in my gallery, struck under Galba.
