HI,

I'm going to be there on the Friday after my meeting. The meeting is near Euston station so Grosvenor Square isn't too far by tube. I've got an open train ticket so will probably head back home on the 7 or 8 pm.

I'm hoping to visit Friday afternoon, after 2.30 when the price goes down to 5 pounds. I will keep my eyes open to see if there is anyone I recognize.

Hi,

Given that I've got an open rail ticket valid until 4am Sunday morning (thank-you work!) I had thought about staying Friday night and going Saturday too but it doesn't look like a possibility with London hotel prices. At least with a couple of hours on Friday afternoon I should be able to do some damage to my budget!

Good hunting folks,

i dont know how posh you might be mauseus but here s a couple of hostels where you should be able to sleep for the price of a low grade allectus or a vespasian Smiley (20-30 quid)

http://www.piccadillyhotel.net/

http://www.hostelbookers.com/results/loc/dd/dst/1/arr/2012-09-28/ngt/31/ppl/1/#/hos=true/hot=true/apt=false/cam=false/gue=true

if you need help with the area or directions on the tube or travel times let me know

you can enjoy london by night and then get some sleep on the train on the way back !

Hi Rick2,

I'd looked at the hostels before but don't realy fancy sharing with several others. I feaar greatly that I would be bludgeoned in my bed, not because people are bad but I snore too much!!!!!!!

I'll head back up north on Friday evening.

It's bad enough staying at the 'Generator' when you know everybody in your room. It was an experience I may have to repeat because London is so damn expensive but it was not exactly pleasant.

have you guys tried to look at hotels just outside the centre ?
for example finsbury park or stratford/forest gate ?

i think you should be able to get a room for around 50/60 quid per night

here s one in forest gate that charges 40 quid

http://stratfordhotelltd.co.uk/Rates.html

you are 10 minutes away from stratford tube station (olympic park) and then in 30 min you are in central london on the central line

yes 2 coins for 10 quid !

an arab bizantine follis and a 15th century persian coin from Herat that i need to id, bought  as a gamble because it looked strange and i ve never seen one before

apart from that i found the show too expensive

there was a guy with a bag ful of gloria exercitus and another one full of tetrici , decent grades but extremely common coins
he was asking 10quid to pick or 6 for a handful....

i got sestertii for less than that !

nice coins , but too expensive for me , especially if you compare them with what you get at the auctions (proper auctions not ebay)

what about you ?
