ID Help
« on: September 21, 2002, 12:47:05 am »
Hello again, this coin came up among a group of Romans I was cleaning.  It is only 11mm in diameter.  I think it is Islamic but am not sure.  I'm not even sure if it is right side up in this scan or which is the obverse and reverse.  If you tell me how many degrees right or left to rotate the images on this post I'll do so.  It has bold features, even though there was mostly bare metal and a little corrosion (no patina :-/) to start off with.  There may be a hint on silvering on the second image if one looks at it in the right angle.  What is it?

Note from Pep:  This post was made before this current board was launched.  To clean up and conserve space on my own webspace, the photo originally in this spot is now posted below on January 3/4, 2004.

Thanks,

Pep  8)

Thank you Burak for solving this old mystery of mine!  I guess the older reply notifications were wiped out when the new board was launched?
