Hristova-Jekov, Nikopolis Addenda #2
« on: July 23, 2012, 02:44:18 pm »
Dear friends of Nikopolis ad Istrum!

The new English edition of Hristova-Hoeft-Jekov, The Coinage of Nikopolis ad Istrum, 2012, is now in the print. I hope that the first copies can be sold in August 2012. But even now where we have about 1980 different types in the catalog new types appear. An endless story!

For these new types I open a new thread because I think it is better not to confuse these coins with the old thread. Here is the 1st one:

#1

A completely new type for Caracalla

Caracalla, AD 198-217
AE 17, 3.82g, 16.96mm, 0°
obv. AV KEC -  [ ANTWNINOC]
Bust, draped and cuirassed, laureate, r.
rev. NIKOPO[ LI] - PROC ICTR (beginning upper r.)

      c) not in Hristova/Jekov (2012):

coll. Hoeft
