In 2011 a
hoard of 67 gold staters and one ¼
stater of the
celtic period (BC 55 - AD 43) was found near the Cambridgeshire village of Kimbolton (UK). They are said to be of the 'South Ferriby
type.
They have been declared ‘legal treasure trove’ valued at 22,000 UK pounds. The local museum in the nearest small town, St Neots (
pop 30,000), is raising the
money to buy them so that they can be displayed locally. The deadline for the museum to agree to buy them is 31st July 2012. So if any
forum members or their friends want to contribute to the fund to buy them they could donate to St Neots Museum, The Old Magistrates Court, 8 New Street, St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 1AE UK

part of its management board. I make a small annual donation plus I have donated towards
buying these coins.
