dating two Peter I wire money
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:25:25 am »
Hi,
I've just purchased these two wire kopeks of Peter I the Great (if i'm not wrong).
Please help me date them if there are enough visible details.

Thank you in advance.

I can't personally assist with your dating question, but just yesterday I came across the following website detailing the recovery of a large hoard of wire money, and a page regarding attribution of these neat little coins...

From what i've read, the date would be somewhere between the horse's legs. In cyrilic. But i can't figure it out.  I know that :Greek_Psi: means 700  , so if i have it in the middle of the three signs, it woud be 1700 and something.
