Cool ... hey, quadrans => curious why Carinus has such different hairstyles? (is it merely an age thingy, or did the artists not really know what the dude looked like?)

Oops, my bad => Carus, Carinus ... yup, that's the oldest trick in the book, eh? (sorry, carry-on)

Congrats on some great new additions!

Wow quadrans, those are both sweet additions ... congrats

Curious though? ... you have Mars for both of your coins, but doesn't the first coin have Virtus on the reverse, not Mars?

 ???

Ummm, sorry if this is a stupid question (sometimes I'm full of them)

Yes, Thanks Steve,  +++

About your question,  ::) ::)

I followed the Göbl description, but it is interesting when we used "Soldier" "Mars" or "Virtus" to the description on the reverse...

...most interesting because of the "virtus" as a noun, "feminine" ???

Hi quadrans ... I hope that you are having a nice cozy Sunday (it's cold here (-32C), so we're all snuggled-in)

Ummm, I found this awesome old thread from the coin-brains on this site (click on link, below)

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=9396.0

... pretty interesting discussion

Ummm, I'm not sure if anything was cast-in-stone, or whether your coin is still up for conversation? ... I personally think that it's Virtus because the legend says Virtus, plus he/she has one naked breast exposed (Virtus usually has her breast exposed)

... blah-blah, I don't know f-all ...

=> hey, I love your two new coins and congrats on amassing such an amazing gallery/collection (you rock, my coin-friend)

You're right; a very interesting discussion. That is one of the joys of these boards: there is always something new to discover. It does raise anew something I've wondered about over the years. That is what seems to be the occasional mismatch between reverse legends and the personifications.
