I was told this is a medieval issue from Germany.  Does anyone recognize this interesting coin?

Hello!

I believe it is this one:

German States -- Saxony Friedrich III, Johann and Georg 1507-25 AD Billon Hohlpfennig. FIG over two shields of arms/uniface. Merseberger 411.

This shows the Saxon coat of arms, see picture:
