Is this a 17th Century Iranian coin?
« on: September 11, 2011, 12:15:24 am »
I would appreciate any information on this 'coin'. It is supposed to be a 17th Century Iranian Civic Copper Falus. Size is approx. 15mm x 20mm. I have found details of Iranian coins with the Lion/Sun on the obverse and Iranian coins with a Hexagram on the reverse - but these have not been on the same coin. Thank you!

what s the weight ?

usually iranian civic copper are quite heavy

i would investigate the possibility of juchid/gandhara coin with a lion , dating from 800AD and originating of afghanistan otherwise a umayyad/abbasid fulus
