Darkening Solutions
« on: September 10, 2011, 08:25:26 pm »
Hi all,

I need to restore some colour to patches of a bronze I had to clean. I know Dellers' Darkener is ideal for the job but does anybody know of ANY suppliers in Europe/outside of the US?? If not, is there an equivalent available here in the UK for sale that'll do the job as well?

Thanks

Matt

Liver of Sulfer will do the same thing as Deller.

Amazon carries it through several suppliers worldwide.

Thanks, Aktina! Just to be sure...

Is this the stuff? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxidising-Concentrate-Liver-Sulphur-10ml-Bottle-/300596006087?pt=UK_Crafts_JewelleryMaking_GL&hash=item45fceb0cc7

Thanks!

This is ammonia polysulfide rather than potassium sulfide(s) which is normally called 'Liver of sulphur'. Ammonia is extremely corrosive on copper and copper alloys. I use the following:

Apply, wait, rinse, dry.
