Yes, every sensible person will be immediately convinced about the nature of these artifacts after reading Peter Thonemann's comments (http://danielomcclellan.wordpress.com/2011/03/31/peter-thonemann-on-the-lead-codices/) on the inscription on one of these lead plates, pointing out it was copied from a tombstone on display in the Amman museum! But of course, this is not 'hard scientific fact' like the carbon dating of leather straps is!
