Not rare, but less common than RIC would seem to indicate.
The galley type FTR was only struck for a short time, principally under Constans. The type was also struck in the name of Constantius II by mints under the control of Constans. By far, most examples one will find are those struck in the name of Constans. Constantius II is found much less often. The type was also struck in the name of Constantius Gallus as Caesar after Constans' death in 350. Rarest of all are those of this type struck by Magnentius, also after Constans' death.
The type was dear to Constans and is believed to depict his crossing to Britain in 342. Others of his family much preferred the fallen horseman over this or any other FTR type.

This might be the place to mention that Falling Horsemen of Constans are similarly scarcePart of this is because Constans died not too long after the start of the series and Constantius II stopped issue of the other FTR types in favor of huge issues of horsemen.
