2 Coins - Osman & Selcuken?
« on: November 29, 2010, 09:50:53 am »
By arrange my little collection I found two silver coins,
but I'am not really sure by destination. My guess:

The first coin:
A "Nasri"-Coin by the Mamluks ???
Weight: 1,86 gr.
Diameter: 14x10 mm

The second coin:
A coin from the Selcuken ???
Weight: 4,73 gr.
Diameter: 20x19 mm

Thanks for help!

Second one is not Seljuk of Rum. It is Mamluk.

Thanks for reply. Yes, I think you are right.
The second coin looks similar to Mamluk coin of
Nasiruddin Sha'ban.
The weight of 4,73 gr. is a little unusual, but
maybe in tolerance (?).
Best Regards

Yes, second coin is Mamluk. I read the name of al-Nasir Muhammad (lower image): ...[al-sultan] al-malik/ [al-Nasir Na]sir al-Dunya wa/ [al-Din] Muhammad bin/ [Qala'un]...

@ newcoins

Thanks a lot for interesting!
I hope, the new pictures will help to ID.
But, if concurrently - what means "Crusader Imitation"  ::)
Is it a Islamic styled coin, pronounced by the Crusaders   ???

Best Regards
