Indentification help needed
« on: November 24, 2010, 06:33:05 pm »
Hi there

Would Crispus, Nicomedia RIC 122 be a fair guess on this coin?

Your photos are much to dimly for my eyes. If you are posting a reference like RIC, you should tell us too, which mint & volume. If you mean "Nicomedia RIC VII 122", the mintmark would be MNA. But I believe it's SMNB as mintmark.

If the obverse legend is "FL IVL CRIS-PVS NOB C" and the mintmark "SMNB", the reference must be Nicomedia RIC VII 92. 324/325 AD. Rare (R1).

The picture of the reverse is still upside down.
