Pisidia Selge Gorgon head coin
« on: August 19, 2010, 03:02:56 pm »
14mm and 2.44g

Since I'm not really sure about what the reverse is I'm having no luck getting references for the coin. It's not in hand yet.
I bought it mainly for the Obverse.

The obverse is a facing Heracles with club over shoulder. The reverse is a stag right, loking back over its shoulder,
the picture is correctly rotated. It kind of looks like an ant-eater here.

Here's mine.

That's probably why I couldn't find it. Thank you for the information. Although I don't see the anteater ;D

Is it Pisidia Selge?

Oh yes, it is Selge, I updated my post with another example where the legend is clear while you were writing.

Great. That's it. Thank you very much.  It's a shame my reverse is so obliterated as the obverse is great with that green patina. But I knew that when buying it.

It is still an interesting coin, with an instense facing portrait! Great.
