Yes it's a poor Constantine of some sort. It's been in my junk drawer for awhile but it would be nice to ID it.
There are just so many different Constantine coins to start with I thought maybe someone recognized the reverse to help me start.

Looks like SPES REI - PVBLICAE, emperor with spear and globe stg. l. It should be Julian II. Then the obv. legend could be DN IVLIAN - VS PF AVG

Best regards

As far as I can see, it also might be Gratian ----->

Gratian. Mint of Arles. 375-378 AD. DN GRATIAN-VS PF AVG (hyphenation ? A-N), pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / SECVRITAS-REIPVBLICAE, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm, mintmark TCON in exergue.
Cf. Arles RIC 19b, Sear 4143.

Thank you everyone. I guess I just assumed one of the Constantine related coins. The below link wouldn't work for me but I'll find it. Thanks

I think no. There is not much similarity, neither of the obv. nor of the rev.! Where is the spear in the l. hand of the figure and where is the mantle fallen down over the back?

I'm pretty sure that Jochen is right with SPES REI PVBLICE and emperor with Spear and Globe. Because of the bust with diadem most likely Constantius II.

I agree. Can't see the mint unfortunately so it will just be Constantius II mint unknown. Thanks for the help.

This type was minted for Julian II as Augustus, too, but in far less quantities.

Thanks. I hate to waste too much time on a coin such as this.

Shocked That's not good to hear! Especially when we need time and effort to help you. But good to know for the next time.  Grin

I didn't mean it like that. All of my coins are important to me. I meant it more that I didn't want to take so much of your time. I appreciate all the help. I meant it as a compliment but I guess it didn't come across like that.
I have never sold a coin in my life I keep all of the ones I acquire as they are all unique in their own way. I have given coins to friends and family in an effort to get them into the hobby.
I wouldn't have posted and asked for help if I didn't think the coin had merit.
Your time and efforts are very important and I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone.

I'd also attribute this to Julian II  with SPES REI-PVBLICE reverse,

I have no clue as to what mint

here is an example from Siscia

hope this helps

The last coin is Julian II as Caesar, because the head is without diadem. Romanorvm's coin is Constantius II or, to my mind less likely, Julian II as Augustus, because the head is with diadem. Note the wreath ties behind the head or the lack of it.

I'm pretty sure there's a PF on the right side obverse. But it doesn't help much when working between the Julian II or Constantius II as Augustus. Any other letters are very hard to see.
