coin help - unknown greek
« on: June 13, 2010, 04:45:38 pm »
hello all..new to the group.  Would appreciate any help or ideas on this coin.  Has characteristic thickness of greek coin but may be provincial as I received it with other provincial uncleaned coins.

Probably something like this one from Castulo, Spain:

Thanks Archivum.  The region makes sense since many of the coins I received were spanish.  The bull on mine is humped back and what appears to be a crescent actually is, in my estimation, another pair of horns.  In fact if you look closely at the feet you will see an extra leg...I'll keep looking.

Pretty darned good; the size (weight) is right also.
