Just got my first lot of uncleaned coins for the competition in! This will be my first ever go at it, and it is going to be a fun one for sure!
I will be editing these posts or adding to them in the near future. I can probably attribute or partially attribute some of them
as is, and have an idea on them already. However, I wanted to get the pictures posted first. I will be studying them, and adding my initial attributions at a later date.
I do want to initially note that coin #2 (from top to bottom, left to right as though reading a book) does have some
bronze disease on it and should be able to be seen in the pictures. Some shiny bronze is also showing through on the
reverse of this coin already on the high points of the feathers and on the hair of the
obverse, etc.
Also, coins #4 and #5 on the reverses, in particular, are already showing shiny bronze on many of the high spots. It is not obvious in the pictures, but can be readily seen in hand. Coin #4 on the
obverse also is showing shiny bronze, especially on the ching and facial areas.
My second post is on the most interesting project I have to tackle on these. Coin(s) number #6/7 is actually two coins stuck together... I am posting numerous pictures of this/these coin(s) to fully show the scope of it. It/They also has/have
bronze disease on it/them...
Nice bright blue areas... I think this/these coin(s) are going into the boil
pot to see if that breaks them apart before I try scrubbing on this/these heavily encrusted one(s).
