#400: H/J 2009, p. 123, top two coins, also seems to show Fortuna standing r., with different legends and a portrait in different style.

Hi Curtis!

Thanks for the hint. I have looked at these 2 types too, HrJ (2011) p.123, 8.14.38.21. But Mrs. Hristova writes Фортуна
ляава, that is 'Fortuna left', and I think she is right.

A new die combination

Geta as Caesar, AD 198-209
AE 16, 2.74g, 15.5mm
obv. [L].AVR.KA - GETAC
Bust, draped and cuirassed, bare.headed, r.
rev. NIKOPOLITWN PROC I *
Crescent with 5 stars: 4 stars in the cavity, 1 star under the crescent
ref. a) AMNG I/1, 1646 (1 ex., Paris)
      b) not in Varbanov (engl.)
      c) not in Hristova/Jekov (2011):
          rev. No. 8.22.48.3
          obv. f.e. No. 8.22.48.5
coll. Hoeft

It is possible that HrJ (2011) 8.22.48.1 has actually L.AVR.KA too because the depicted coins are very worn. In that case it is only a correction!

A new die combination

Commodus, AD 177-192
AE 18, 2.81g, 18.46g, 225°
obv. AVT KAI AV - KOMODOc
        laureate head r.
rev. NIKO - POLI PROC I
A dioscur (Kastor), nude, stg. r., resting with r. hand on spear and holding with his l. hand
bridle of a horse stg. r. with raised forefoot
ref. a) AMNG I/1, 1240 var. (writes AV KAI M - KOMODO)
If the coin is worn AV can be misinterpreted as M and the small c at the end disappears
          in the garment!
      b) Varbanov (engl.) 2195 (same dies)

Actually under No. 8.10.24.1 two different types are mixed:
a) with obv. AVT KAI - AV KOMOD - OC: 2nd line outer one
b) with obv. AVT KAI AV - KOMODOc: the other two ones

A completely new type for Caracalla

Caracalla as Caesar, AD 196-198
AE 16, 3.09g, 15.81mm, 45°
obv. M AV K - ANT[WNINOC]
Bare head, draped and cuirassed, r.

ref. a) not in AMNG

There are types with 1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, 4 stars and even 8 stars (Varbanov 2964) known for Nikopolis, but none with 5 stars.

A new die combination or rather a correction

Septimius Severus, AD 193-211
AE 16, 2.39g, 16.01mm, 225°
obv. AV KAI - CEVHR
Bust, draped and cuirassed, laureate, r.
rev. NIKOPOLI  PROC ICTR (from upper right)
Crescent with 4 cross-shaped stars, one below the crescent; above each horn a dot
ref. a) not in AMNG
     b) not in Varbanov (engl.)
     c) not in Hristova/Jekov (2011):
         rev. No. 8.14.48.24
         obv. f.e. No. 8.14.48.1
coll. Hoeft

HrJ writes AV KL., but the mentioned dot seems to be the lower end of I from KAI. Then this coin would be a correction.

A new die combination and a rev. variant with legend errors

Caracalla, AD 198-217
AE 17, 3.10g, 17.37mm, 30°
obv. AV KM AV - ANTWNIN
Bust, draped and cuirassed, laureate, r.
rev. NIIKOP
Homonoia in long garment and with mantle, stg.l., holding cornucopiae in l. arm
and patera in extended r. hand
ref. a) not in AMNG:
rev. cf. AMNG I/1, 1595 (for type)
          obv. AMNG I/1, 1594 (Herakles)
      b) not in Varbanov (engl.)
      c) not in Hristova/Jekov (2011):
rev. f.e. No. 8.18.36.10 (for depiction only)
          obv. f.e. No. 8.18.47.17 (tripod)
coll. Hoeft

Legend error NIIKOPOL! Often NIIKOPOL is a badly cut NEIKOPOL. But NEIKOPOL is not known in Caracalla's small coins!

A completely new type for Elagabal (see note below!)

Elagabal, AD 218-222
AE 16
obv. AV KM AVRH - ANTWNINOC
Bust, draped and cuirassed, seen from behind, laureate, r.
rev. NIKOPOLITW[N P]ROC ICTRON (from upper right)
      Crescent with 3 six-pointed stars
ref. a) not in AMNG
      b) not in Varbanov (engl.)
      c) not in Hristova/Jekov (2011)
rev. cf. No. 8.26.48.1 (eight-pointed stars, don't protrude into the legend)
          obv. f.e. No. 8.26.20.13 (snake-staff)
      unpublished?
Guy Clark, Vcoins, november 2011

This type is similar to that of #392 in this thread, except that it has a different bust. It's interesting that I it was possible to find two different variants of this new type! I have added the other type below.
