Eros is only known for Geta as Caesar. But here it is the bearded Augustus. I then found an exemplar at Jarman/Lawrence 'Prolegomena Eros'

A new die combination:

AE 27 13.9gr

Caracalla Nikopolis ad Istrum Gallus

Obv:  AV K M AVPH - ANTΩNINOC
Laureate draped and cuirassed bust right

Rev: VΠ  AVP∙ ΓAΛΛOV [NIKO]ΠOΛITΩN  ΠPOC IC∙ (inscribed circularly)
Herakles (nude) standing right, right hand resting on club, left arm holding lion-skin with bow in hand

Hr/J-; AMNG-; Varbanov (E) I -

I don’t think Varbanov was aware of this obverse die when he published his monograph.  The most common pairings for this obverse die seems to be with a gamos reverse, cf. Hr/J 8.18.34.2. and Hera, cf. AMNG 1538.

Reverse die not recorded in Hr/J or AMNG.

I believe Arminius has a double match in his collection.

A new die combination and a rev. die variant

Commodus, AD 177-192
AE 30, 12.37g, 29.62mm, 15°
struck under Caecilius Servilianus
obv. AVT KAi MAR AVRH - KOMODOC
        Head, laureate, r.
rev. NEIKOPO PROC ICT - H - GEMO KAIKI CERBILEI
Zeus in himnation enthroned l., resting on his sceptre and holding in outstretched
       r. hand patera; left at his feet the eagle stg.l., head turned r.
ref. a) AMNG I/1, 1231 var. (different legend break on rev.)
      b) Varbanov (engl.) 1230 var. (= AMNG 1231)
      c) not in Hristova/Jekov:
rev. No. 8.10.1.4 var. (different legend break)
          obv. No. 8.10.1.7
coll. Hoeft

There are several different variants of this type. They are due to the sloppy making.

A correction of #226

Caracalla, AD 198-217
AE 13, 2.4g
obv. AV KEC - ANTWN
Bust, draped and cuirassed, laureate, r.
rev. NIKOPOLI] -  [PROC ICTR] (retrograde)
Homonoia, in long garment and with mantle, weasring kalathos, stg. frontal, head
l., holding cornucopiae in l. arm and patera in outstretched r. hand
ref. a) AMNG I/1, 1597 (1 Ex., Wien)
      b) not in Varbanov (engl.)
      c) Hristova/Jekov No. 8.18.36.8 corr.
gitbudnaumann, E-Bay, March 2011

Hristova/Jekov writes AVT KEC - ANTWN. But the obv. legend of the depicted coin is not readable. So my suggestion is that is has the same AV KEC as on this coin. I think I have completed the inscription on #226 incorrectly!
