Abrasive materials?
« on: January 26, 2010, 04:49:07 pm »
I am curious to know what is the least abrasive material to store coins on, or in?  I would guess silk, velvet, perhaps soft leather (as a pouch). I have heard some varying opinions on the subject and would like to know what everyone thinks.

I heard that velvet (or maybe only the fake stuff?) was actually very bad.

I've actually heard the same thing, that they were like putting your coin on sand paper! interesting...

i think maybe that is crushed velvet, or velveteen.
i just use felt, but then my boxes are designed to hold the coins in their flips, so the point is probably moot.
