First things first...I probably have the coin oriented wrong, but the script was not making any sense to my eyes! Sorry. OK...what you see in the pic is what I know about the coin (other than size and weight). I was trolling the junk box again and found this one along with a couple of pretty nice follis' (Constantine I and Licinius I)...this one intriguied me and looked to be cleanable (I just got it this afternoon - it has not even touched water yet), but I have no idea what it is! Possibly Judean? Anyway...any and all help would be fantastic.

A guess: Sri Lanka (Ceylon, Tabrobane), or Southern India.  Shown upside down?  George Spradling

This is not my area but the above looks right to inexperienced eyes.  The significant difference is the second line of the legend on the reverse (yours is upside down on both as wandigeneaux said).

Thank you both very much! I would have NEVER figured that one out. Seems I have a new person to read up on!

Zeno is always a good place to find photos but the site as a whole is short on text, explanations or history.  On the other hand, the following link may be more history that you wanted but it should cover your need to 'read up'.
