Hope for the best but prepare for the worst

Our only museum completely dedicated to antiquity in Australia, the Nicholson in Sydney,  is currently running two exhibitions entitled “Egyptian, Gods and Mummies: Travels with Herodotus” and “The Sky’s the Limit: Astronomy in Antiquity”. The first runs until 2010 and the second until December this year. Well worth a look if you are visiting town.

Because of A. D. Trendall's Guide, which placed the Nicholson Museum's own collection in context, the Nicholson Museum was already famous here in the 1950s when I was an undergraduate.
