I'd try Hadrian at Odessos.

1567 The emperor on horse galloping right and holding short spear.
1568 The emperor on horse right, holding long spear.

found these two entries in Moushmov under hardian...I also found this:

1577 Horseman galloping right, his mantle waving behind.

which I think is the right reverse but only listed under A. Pius
can't find much in other on line lists...

It is AMNG I/2, 2238 var. obv. AVT KAI TRAIANOC ADRIANOC; rev. ODHC - CEITWN, horseman cuirassed and with flowing mantle behind (the emperor), riding r., horse pacing, holding spear in raised r. hand and reins in l. hand.
= Varbanov (engl.) 4285 var. (cites AMNG 2238), rated R6 from 10
Your coin is a variant because #2238 has bust draped and cuirassed, laureate r., whereas your coin has a head with slight drapery on l. shoulder.

Best regards
Jochen

It might just be a trick of the light, but does anyone else think this is a cast?

Walter Holt

I did wonder about that, too, but I can't be sure from the photo. It certainly has that appearance.

There are some edge flaws that runs through both sides; no casting seam nor filing; and it is of pretty low grade and holed.

If it is a cast, it has an odd combination of high realism and a very low grade/damaged coin.

Personally I think it is just corroded.
