Photo posting question
« on: May 29, 2013, 05:02:57 pm »
This may be a dumb question, but I've never let that stop me before, so here goes.

How do you include pictures "inside" a post?  Whenever I attach pictures I use the "Attach" option under Additional Options, and the pictures show up at the end of the message.  However, some posters, such as Taras in the post linked below, are able to mix pictures in between their text.  How do they do it?

Thanks,
Sosius

post using [*i *m*g*] http:// url of the picture [*/*i*m*g*]

remove all my asterixes (I had to include them to avoid it looking like a pic!).
In words:
img in square brackets then url then slash img in square brackets.

it's not recommended for anything except really permanent resources (eg British Museum, acsearch), or pics that are time-limited in importance (weather today in Baltimore), because within a while most pics disappear for one or other reason, whereas attached pics remain forever.

Hi,

If you clicked "Reply" you will see icon buttons. The second on the left on the second row will bring up:

[img][slash img]

In between those you need to post the web address where the image is hosted. In order to ensure longevity of image I use my Forvm gallery. Joe may frown but I sometimes think it helps to have images contained next to pertinent text.

See the image below for the syntax. Ignore the sizes, that happens automatically.

Regards,

Mauseus

I never realised the second row of buttons contained various posting tags. I sort of learned the [img] stuff from history posting to various boards but now I see there's a button for it!
