Blanca value in the day
« on: August 08, 2009, 08:12:36 pm »
A commonly seen coin is the blanca of Ferdinand and Isabella famous for bankrolling Columbus' voyages.  Does anyone know the value of that denomination in 1492 (or so)?  I read they were 1/2 maravedi or 1/68 real but what did a lunch or beer cost a sailor getting ready to ship out with Columbus?
