a fine addition Noah, and worthy of your fine collection. the toning is not only beautiful but functional as well, as it highlights the features so wonderfully.
congrats!

Well, I was just informed by a highly respected authority that this is a modern fake!  I am sad, yet relieved that this has occurred.  This is why Forvm is an invaluable resource to amateur collectors...

I just added this pleasant Decentius today.  I will probably halt my purchases for awhile now...  :-\

The newest addition to my collection is this nice Commemorative issue of Constantinople. I like the effect of the patina that makes her look as if she is staring at us out of the corner of her eye!!

I always like the Santa Claus looking portraits of these gallic emperors. Nice one. :)

Ha! I can honestly say I never thought Santa, but I do see it now. Thanks for the feedback; I had a nice Tetricus but sold it because I was not happy with the portrait.   I looked and looked for some time and found this one which I feel has a pretty nice portrait compared to most of his.

Although Tetricus coins are outrageously common (sometimes ad nauseam), nice portraits of his are tought to find. This one is excellent

Thanks to you all! In-hand, the portrait is even better.  I couldn't get a good photo.  The higher points are reddish while the lower areas are a little darker than the photo, thus giving off a higher contrast than shown.

Agreed, and tougher still to find is a Tetricus with BOTH sides of the same coin in great condition.

Nice pick up!

Strong portrait of his. A pity the reverse isn't the same. The overall impression is very good though. Good catch

Thanks JC and Randygeki(h2)!  I tend to lean toward portraits, so I compromised on the reverse since I really liked the portrait.

Since my coin buying has slowed down of late, I have taken the time to photograph and upload my widely varied artifact collection.  It ranges from ancient to 20th century items.  Take a look around at them and my other coin folders.
