Looking at the herd, I'm almost embarassed to submit my offerings.  What wonderful coins!  I have only two in my zoo, but the deficiency in numbers has duly been noted.  Here's one decent Caesar, and one soft limes.

I think the herd needs an experienced male Indian elephant to intimidate the king of Parthia:

Bactria, Graeco-Baktrian Kings, Demetrios,
Æ29, Hemi-obol / Triple Unit / Trichalkon (28-29 mm / 12.41 g), ca. 200-185 BC.,
Obv.: Head of elephant slightly right with raised trunk, wearing bell.
Rev.: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, either side of large caduceus (with serpent heads at the upper ends), monogram ΔPI... in field to left.
SNG ANS 209-11 ; Bopearachchi Série 5C ; MIG 108a ; cf. Sear GC 7533 .

Here are two coins minted in Spain with a elephant i have.

The first one is very rare. It´s an as minted at Sacili, near by Córdoba. Unfortunately  is very worn.
The second one is 1/4 shekel minted at Cartago Nova (Cartagena now) by the Barcids at the time of Hannibal. Sear nº 6566.

Hello,

i must confess this is not very ancient for people from the "old" world - but nice:

India, Mysore, 1678-1761 AD.,
Æ Unit (11-12 mm / 2,70 g),
Obv.: helmeted(?) elephant walking l., circle and crescent (sun and moon ?) above.
Rev.: crossed lines and circles.

I fail to see the point in this. The coin clearly says 'SACILI', what's the point in claiming something else?
It doesn't even look remotely similar to the supposed Hebrew letters underneath the picture.
Maybe my lack of a classical education shows here but I'll take the chance.

Word "lwmwdl", to train, to teach.

We could known more meanings of these words with a dictionary of

biblical hebrew.

I agree with you about classical education. It´s dificult to change our classical history.

It's not in either the 'Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament' or Koehler, Baumgartner and Stamm's 'Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament'.
