PVC free flips
« on: May 17, 2009, 12:06:15 pm »
I finally found a coin store in my area that carries a small selection of ancients!  I picked up a nice Jovian out of a $7.00 bargain box, I'm psyched!

Anyway the salesman assured me that the flips I bought were PVC free.  When i got them home I noticed they were much softer and more pliable than the ones I bought from FORVM a couple of months ago. Would I be correct in assuming this means they have a higher PVC content?

Thanks.
I did a search for "PVC free" before I started this thread and could not find the answer.   What does PVC do to a coin anyway?  How long does it take.  Is it alright to use it for temp storage until i buy new ones?  If there is already a thread explaining this I couldn't find it and I apologize.

Search for "PVC damage," and you will find:
