Potator,

Your presentations of virtual trays are very appealing!

Its sort of like a trailer of a movie, all the best parts at a quick glance ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Nothing near a complete set but I just added 18 pics to my Dombes (feudal french province) series...

Just in case someone would like to lurk around : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=2076

Hi all,

The coin fair in Sète last week was great. After a cold winter, staying a while along the see on the south coast with friends has been very good

And the coin hunting has been quite successfull with

L. Thorius Balbus denarius, RCV # 192 : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-78448
Caracalla antoninianus, RIC # 312c : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-78446
A 18th exemple in my Divi series featuring Antoninus Pius/eagle, RIC # 89 : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-78449

Thanks for any comment or correction
JC

Thanks guys !

On the way to completing the DIVI series, here the 19th with a Titus/eagle example

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-79220

I still need to find Augustus/eagle, Nerva/altar and Marcus Aurelius/altar and other than trying then to find the bust variants and obverse legend variants the set will be completed...what a bore !

Not the gran' slam by far, today at Lyon's coin fair, but two rather nice Gordian III denari, just to feed the beast...

DIANA LVCIFERA : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-81524
SECVRITAS PVBLICA : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-81523

I'm quite happy with Diana, being the third in my collection after Domna and Plautilla. A future sub-section ?

Thanks for looking

20 th !!!

Not a century fox though
Just the 20th example in my DIVI series set : Nerva/Altar : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-81729

The more I reach the goal of having every portrait and reverse, the more I'm considering getting the portraits and legends variants. Coin collectors are not reasonable people !

Been today to a very small collectibles fair (multicollections). A few coin dealers (just one professionnal I bet) but enough to make my day with this L. Procilius L.F. denarius : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-84818

A newcomer in my collection with that Caracalla denarius celebrating his marriage to Plautilla :

Caracalla denarius RIC # 124a : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-86808

and as a reminder, the sister coin for his wife, with the exact same reverse (not the same reverse die of course..) : https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-34380

I like it when the coins tell a story - in this case a wedding.

Fantastic.

A new entry, Vespasian this time

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-87913

Although the reverse is not as good as the obverse, the overall impression, having the coin in hand, is very pleasant. The portrait is outstanding IMO

I enthusiastically agree.  I love this portrait of Vespasian.  What a determined expression and so stylistically executed.  This is the face of a man who means business.
