The Man in the Roman Street
« on: April 15, 2009, 12:24:57 am »
Just picked up a used copy of Harold Mattingly's  The Man in the Roman Street which a few chapters in has been a cracking good read. Basically the book is an overview of how Roman citizens dealt with religion, politics, leisure time, ect...written with his usual style and insight.

Mattingly also wrote a book titled Christianity in the Roman Empire, has anyone read this and can give an opinion on it?
