The symbols on the shoulder of the she-wolf

The most interesting symbolism nell'Vrbs with Rome Capitoline she-wolf, is the frequent presence of some symbols on the shoulder of the she-wolf. Signs are little visible, so can be analyzed only on coins of good conservation. Probably it is marked to identify specific aspects of certain issues: timing, sequence of the same, engraver.
However, we remain in the case of hypotesis, because if they did, it would be logical that this marking appeared on all the issues: instead they are frequent in the series of NicomediaThessalonica and Trier, but more rare or even absent in those of other mints.

The reverse of this coin seems to be included in the Siscia post above,  middle coin,  third row. I see no reason to doubt the coin.

It is always very risky to judge the quality of a coin, looking at a photograph. At first glance, this seems good....

It seems that this is the exact coin and not just a die duplicate (good!) or a cast clone (bad!).  Even the color patches match.  There are some edge differences which I suspect is from ragged trimming of the images to get the white background.  Agree? Where did the photo used in Siscia 3,3 come from?

In fact,Photo used in Siscia 3,3 and my photo shows the same coin,I think maybe someone  edit the picture(change the background)by photoshop .Some of these coins were sold on eBay,so it’s not very difficult to get the picture.

Just starting to collect VRBS ROMA's, bought this one yesterday. Mint mark looks more like SMTSdot than SMTSepsilion, but the RIC list does not list any with a dot. The helmet is not quite a match to any shown at the beginning of this post ( does not extend as far down the back of the neck as the Thes one in the pic). Any comments would be helpfull.

It should be RIC 187 with a circle or Theta? on the shoulder. SMTS epsilon (rather clogged up)

These are differences betweeen Lyon's types LI01a1 and LI01a2: symbol on she-wolf and bust type A or B.

Hi,what do you think about this coin,is it right? The font of character on obverse looks a little unusual and it is hardly to see any symbol on the shoulder of the she-wolf.Is it genuine?

Hello! It seem to me very scarce type dot PLC without symbol on the she-wolf!
I know other examples of this coin with same style of fonts.
I think your coin right and very good:)
Thank you, Antvwala
