Ancient Imitative AE4?
« on: April 06, 2009, 10:45:49 pm »
The lettering on this coin looks a little off to me.  Is it an ancient imitative or some stylish script?

0.73 gm, 13 mm

Thanks for any comments.  :)

Do you have a picture of the obverse?

For me it looks like an ancient imitation but the style differs somewhat in that time even in the official mints.

Here is the obverse.  It is pretty beat up.

Indeed funny style.
I am not sure whether there never was a proper legend or whether it is only gone by corrosion, but it for me it is fairly well an "unofficial mint".
