Hi,

Refer to

http://www.coinarchives.com/a/results.php?search=campgate&s=0&results=250

The most primitive campgates I find there are Flavius Victor

Above portrait (not the complete coin !) looks somewhat like this,

http://www.coinarchives.com/a/lotviewer.php?LotID=215222&AucID=295&Lot=848

Kleinbronze, Arles (?), 387/388. D N FL VIC-TOR P F AVG. Drapierte Panzerbüste mit Perldiadem nach rechts; Rs: [SP]ES RO-MA-NORVM. Lagertor mit zwei Türmen, oben darüber Stern. Im Abschnitt [...].

or this

http://www.coinarchives.com/a/lotviewer.php?LotID=12804&AucID=11&Lot=1269

Flavius Victor, 387-388. Æ-Nummus, 383/388, 103. Emission; 1,46 g. Drapierte Büste r. mit Perldiadem//Lagertor.

No number can be given.. can't see the mint. You can trust this is a very late Roman.. interesting find !!

 :)

Hi Goodies, i still believe that i find something interesting, and F. Victor is one of them, but this coin in my opinion can not be Flavius, because no star above Campgate, and B in left field, Flavius it haven´t. :( Probably again something common.

Hi Antiq,

I am pretty sure that your first thoughts are correct and that your coin is Theodosius. Something like the one from Thessalonika pictured below.

Regards,

Alex.

Hola Antiq, According to Helvetica's spreadsheet, with "B" in left field and GLORIA REIPVBLICE on the reverse, there are two possibilities:
Theodosius, Obv: DN THEODO-SIVS PF AVG - RIC IX Thessalonica 62b
Arcadius, Obv: DN ARCADIVS PF AVG - RIC IX Thessalonica 62c
both rarity S.
Saludos
Mario
