Hello everyone,
This coin is rough,I couldn't make out anything that looked like letters.
I did match it to a pix in TJC...G 10,what do you think?
I couldn't find anything that looked like this in GBC,do you see it?

And what about that flan!
The minters must have really been in a rush that day!
Thanks and Have a good night.

The style of the inscription is right, but I'm not sure how diagnostic that is, since Type G is so variable. I don't think there's enough there to tie it down to the exact variety.

Thanks Robert,
I thought G10,only because I couldn't find a match through inscriptions
so I had to look at script style and that was the only picture that was close.
At a loss for any positive ID,I will assume it to be a G10 with a question mark.
At least I can call it something.
I forgot to ask,can you put a Hendin number to it ? ya know I had to ask  ;D

Hi, This coin is typically the type Lb in AJC I. I don't know the concordance with TJC. These coins are very interresting because the name of High Priest is often illegible but it's always associated at YEHOCHANAN. The means weight of this coins is less important than the one of the other type of Yehochanan. These coins are more scarce.

Best Regards

Frederic

Thanks everyone,
When I try to give it a Hendin number,I am confused.
Not all types are pictured,
and I am wondering if it even has a Hendin number?
It seems there are a lot of coins with fouled up letters,
crude styles,wild inscriptions etc.
Meshorer lists them as type G,
Does Hendin have a number for the poor unfortunate coins
that can't get a proper ID?
Thanks

Hendin's classification is too coarse for Hasmonean coins, and these don't really fit. So for this one he's probably best ignored.

Thanks for the AJC/TJC concordance. That's going straight in the margin of my TJC.
